**** The single "Wedding Rings & Bullets In The Same Golden Shrine" is a post rock epic, it last fifteen minutes, and it's worth downloading. Yes, this single is an internet release. You can download it for free! Apart from this, I'm not familar with the band, but I'm glad I discovered it. The description of the song follows.

The song starts with simplistic, slow pattern slowly building up. Sounds familiar, eh? Yes, this is a typical post-rock template. The melody is nice, EVERYTHING is played through the delay effect ect ect ect ect, but it's...no it isn't...sorry, I need to gather myself up..I meant to say that delay effect is tastefully dozed. Well, true is, it is not used in tasteful amounts because, as I've said, there are loads of that effects. But somehow it doesn't overbear (or whatever is the word) the whole sound. There are some sounds on the top of it, close to hiss, and they are a bit too high in the mix, distracting from the listening of the rest. But that's because of the timbre rather than the delay. And it's only for the short time anyway. That melody (I rather call it a pattern) is basically just a four tones repeating on and on, but their arrangements and intervals are lovely. And they were choosen, obviously so, to be a root structure for the building chords. So far, it's lovely.

At the third minute that pattern that was builded up and up stops and the song changes the pace: only one repeating tone on guitar, all the time. Okay, this is post-rock, let's see what will happen after 8 or 16 bars. Well, at the predictable moment another melody enters in, this one is a main melody, because repetitive tone will stay in the background, providing what is known in classical music as a "pedal tone" . A new melody have slightly Oriental/Spanish feel, it's hard to say since it is minimalistic and it provides some nice atmos and dissonances over the pedal tone. Although the initial start wasn't surprising, the melody itself is enjoyable.

The same melody will continue in the 8th minute, but this time everything stops, leaving us with the same melody painted on a fabric...yes, that is a padded timbre made of instruments (if there are guitars they are on E-bows), stringy, brassy and ethereal at the same time.

The drums kick in at the 10th minute, quite surprising, the melody continues in much faster tempo, this time sounding more tex-mex. The brass section builds up as the main theme becomes a dramatic theme for a golden-era western movie (my impression). For the first time, the song suits to its title (again just my impression).

And very soon, the sound delay grows again, the melody subtlely changes and the whole song becomes more spacey. This is the grand finale - and my favourite part of the song. Great, great melody. Brass section building up in the background. Excellent atmosphere. And suddenly, the end. Some guitar feedback songs and then the end for good.

At the end of the day, it's a very good song. I'm not a post-rock fan, but I like it. Hence my reccommendation to EVERYONE.

Zalmoxe are aceeasi calitate si pe discul original. la fel si pe vinil.asa a fost inregistrat, nu exista o varianta mai buna.
cunosc situatia de cand am contribuit ProgPhonia si m-am consultat cu Romarillos, care mi-a confirmat cele spuse mai sus.

El se referea la calitatea fisierului mp3 sa fie de 128 Kbps. Eu am CDul si am facut dupa el mp3uri la 320 Kbps. E cunoscut faptul ca fisierele mp3 sunt de fapt mpeg-uri la care sunt taiate frecventele pe care urecea umana nu le percepe sau cele care pot fi excluse dar sa nu afecteze sunetul de baza. 128 kbps este varianta cea mai economica in care sunetul este inca cat de cat ok. La 320 este maximul posibil pentru un fisier mp3 care taie doar frecventele inaccesibile urechii omului. Niciodata un mp3 fie si la 320 kbps nu va suna ca pe CD acolo unde e captat tot sunetul.

In concluzie un CD inregistrat prost care e facut si mp3 suna si mai rau.

Acest album este greu de gasit in format mp3 deoarece nu este un album ascultat de mult lume. Il poti lua doar de la alte persoane care il au. Eu ti-as putea fi de folos in sensul asta deoarece il am fact mp3 dupa CD la 320 kbps. Daca vrei poti sa ma adaugi pe messenger si ti-l voi trmite. Vei gasi adresa mea de messenger sub postul meu.
